Ummmm, you do realise that the track pads on a machine of that size are totally different than the pads on a small machine, right? The pads on a 2500 are very strong castings....they will not "bend like a banana" as you suggest. They are not a standard flat plate type of pad, but a box section, or solid cast design depending on what type of pads are installed. The reason for narrow pads, is that most times, wide pads aren't needed, but? are available as an option.

Maybe you should learn a bit of what you're preaching to people, instead of just running off at the mouth. The current version of the EX2500 you see here, has an operating weight of 548,700 pounds. There? is also no such machine as a 7500 shovel. On top of that, if you are hauling EX1000s, then you're hauling very old machines, that weighed less than the current model that replaced them. If you strip one of those lighter machines down, it's going to weigh even less.
